AC replacement in Dover is a sizing job, not a model-number swap. Brick mill buildings and the older streets around the Cochecho were not designed for ducts. Radiators and baseboard are common. Later streets mix capes and colonials on oil or gas. Converted mill space crams equipment into closets. An old system that was oversized will short-cycle if the new one copies it. Outdoor equipment needs to sit above snow that slides off a mill roof or a steep house roof. Salt air reaches Dover on some storms, and coils and disconnects corrode. Where the condenser sits, how the line set gets inside, and whether the pad is under a roof drip all change the quote. The City of Dover has its own building officials. Ask which permit a boiler or furnace replacement needs, and what an inspector will want on a vent leaving a mill building. Northern Utilities is the gas map that applies here more often than Liberty's Merrimack Valley list. Unitil electric territory covers much of the seacoast. Confirm both on the bills. Ask for the load calculation and what the quote excludes. This site does not publish a dollar figure.
